To satisfy your ignorance on the topic of socialism and what is meant by the term, “means of production,” I found this definition to pass on to you for your benefit-

But in reality “means of production” is a term of art. One would not have to go very far in studying socialism to find this out. I’m not saying socialism is a perfect system. I’m saying there’s a reason there are big “Socialist” parties in Europe.
Welfare state programs like Social Security and Medicare are measures to relieve the worst effects of capitalism. Before they were instituted old people were left to starve and die of treatable medical conditions. Only an idiot could claim that the “only harm people in the end.”
So the question is “Why would oppose extending these programs to all people?” Why can’t a wealthy society like our see to it that everyone has a decent standard of living?

So in capitalism you’re essentially owned by your boss for ca. 1/2 of your waking hours that you are at work. And then he takes the product of your labor, sells it and cuts you in for a (typically small) portion of the proceeds so that you can purchase necessities.
This system might be better called wage-slavery because it is totally involuntary. You’ve inverted reality by attributing the concept of involuntary labor to socialism.
Look up any book on socialism and it will tell you that the term of art “the means of production” does not entail wage-labor. Your mistake shows that you have very little knowledge of socialism.
In capitalist systems people are force to sell their wage labor in order to get money for necessities. Your boss doesn’t own you in the sense that a chattel slave is owned, however your boss can exercise a wide variety of arbitrary control over you.

The “means of production” will always go back to “labor,” i.e. human labor. Like I said before, we can build factories with machinery, but who built the factory, and orchestrated the systems by which things would need to be done in that factory, who maintains the production or output of the machinery, HUMANS, i.e. human labor.

I’ll give you credit for at least looking up the definition of social. It is “the public (but not necessarily state) ownership of the means of production (of wealth.) However, contrary to your understanding “the means of production” entails factories, machines and other tangible items. It certainly does not include labor.
In the system of capitalism (i.e. private ownership of the means of production) workers are forced to earn subsistence by selling their wage-labor.
